Q. IS THERE A GOD???

The Answer is - YES!

Down through the ages, thinking members of the human race have asked this most important question. Is there a Being, greater than myself, who is responsible for the existence of this universe and who holds my future in his care?

Generation after generation have answered YES - And they call this being GOD.

But what evidence do they have for the existence of God? The Evidence, in fact, is abundant!! 'The heavens proclaim the glory of God!'

All the modern sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, Botany, Astronomy, reveal the existence of an astounding order in this universe; whether it be the order of the molecular atoms and their components, or the order of cells, or the digestive organs of the earth-worm, or the marvel of the workings of the human eye, or the clockwork regularity of the solar system. The universe, as we know it, is governed by universal laws (such as gravity and relativity) which human scientists, from physicists to micro-biologists and immunologists, did not invent but discovered as PRE- EXISTING.

Such ORDER and such LAWS, demand that an intelligent person acknowledge that there is an ORDER-ER or LAW-GIVER.

We conveniently call such a Being . . GOD

SO THERE IS A GOD!

THIS GOD LOVES AND CARES FOR YOU!

So, There is a god! (Has He ever revealed Himself?)

Q. IS JESUS OF NAZARETH TRULY GOD??

The Answer is - YES!

IF God does exist, has He revealed himself? Yes, He has, in the person of Jesus called the Christ.

Of all the great Leaders of spiritual movements who have ever existed, among whom you would have to count Moses, Socrates, Confucius, Lao-Tze, the Buddha, Jesus, Zoroaster and Mohammed, one of them stands out as extra-ordinary. This one is Jesus. He claimed to be God. This either makes him the biggest con-man of the lot and therefore the most swiftly dismissed. Or it makes him the One to whom I ought really to listen!

Firstly, it can be established from reliable historical documents that Jesus really existed. (No genuine modern historian can deny this; nor can they deny that the chief source of information about Jesus, the Four Gospels, have a superior manuscript accreditation than do documents which describe other historical figures of those times such as Nero or Julius Caesar). The Historical Jesus claimed to be God.

Now, IF someone claims to be God, (as Jesus clearly did), then there are only 3 logical possible conclusions.

He really is God and Lord. Or
He is a Lunatic and has no insight into his own reality, let alone anyone else's. Or
He is a malicious Liar.

LORD, LIAR or LUNATIC.

There are your choices. Who do You say Jesus is?

He cannot be a LIAR. He died for the Truthfulness of his statement 'I am the Son of God'.

He cannot be LUNATIC, since no-one ever spoke with the Wisdom and insight that this Jesus showed. Moreover, no lunatic ever avoided the cunning verbal traps laid for Him as Jesus so often did.

Therefore, He must be LORD.

Moreover, Jesus brings the Credentials of 'LORD'. So he is GOD.

Firstly, Specific details of the life of the promised Messiah, whom Jesus as Lord claimed to be, details as specific as His birthplace, His ancestry, His time of appearance, His mode of death, etc., were predicted hundreds of years before His arrival, in books already in general circulation.

Secondly, Jesus does things that only God could have done. He worked miracles, (curing the blind, the crippled, etc.) and wonders (calming storms, feeding thousands, etc.). Definitively, His own Rising from the dead places the final seal on the case that JESUS TRULY IS GOD.

This Jesus Loves and Cares for you.

So, there is a God and this God reveals Himself in Jesus.

Q. Did this Lord Jesus BUILD A CHURCH to which He wanted everyone to belong and IS THAT CHURCH THE CATHOLIC CHURCH?

The answer is YES!

Clearly, Jesus DID intend to build a church for it is recorded of Him as saying (Mt 16:18) 'I will Build My Church'

What He intended to do, He obviously went on to do. Jesus built His Church on the foundation of His Apostles and gave them instructions (Mt 28:19-20)

'Go... to all nations, ...teach them to observe all the commands I gave you... I am with you for all ages, even to the end of time.'

He wanted everyone to listen to His Church for it is recorded that He said (Mt 18:17), 'If someone refuses to listen to the Church, treat him like an outsider.'

This Church, says Saint Paul (1 Tim 3;15) is 'The Pillar and Ground of Truth'.

The Church that the Lord Jesus founded has to go back to the time of Jesus.

It cannot have any other founder except Jesus. It has to be present in EVERY age trying to teach ALL nations ALL of Jesus' Truth.

Only One Church in the whole world fulfils these conditions of being Christ's True Church.

ONLY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH.
